On Sunday, September 2, 2001, Kingdom Family Church hosted their very first service at the Holiday Inn Select located on Gentry Parkway in Tyler, Texas with approximately 60 new members joining that day.
After nine months of having services at the hotel, Pastor Mauldin (Shankle) spotted a building and some land where KFC could call home. Now with about 150 members, KFC started the vision fund drive in order to raise money to move into the location at 1918 E. Earle Street. KFC moved into the building on June 10, 2002 where it continued to have Sunday morning and Wednesday night services.
During this time the members donated time as well as money to transform the warehouse into a worship sanctuary and administrative office. By the fall of 2002, KFC was ready to host their first anniversary conference. The Kingdom Family Church Anniversary Conference took place on September 6th - 8th, 2002, nightly including "A Night of the Arts" on Saturday that allowed different talents around the city and as far as Dallas, including singing, praise dancing and comedy.
KFC continued to grow in membership going in to the year 2003. In February, 2003, KFC hosted their 2nd annual appreciation services for Pastor Stephanie Mauldin (Shankle). Proceeding in the second quarter of the year, KFC began another vision fund drive to purchase the Kingdom Business Complex (previously a denture manufacturer) at 1918 E. Front Street. The KBC building was acquired during the first quarter of 2003. KFC hosted a crusade in the neighboring city of Lufkin in July 2003.
During the crusade preparation, Pastor Mauldin (Shankle) met Pastor Reginald Shankle. The two became one the following February 2004. By Spring 2004, Pastor Reginald joined Pastor Stephanie as Pastor of Kingdom Family Church. At this point, KFC had grown to almost 300 members.
As the membership continued to grow, the vision for the Kingdom Business Complex began to unfold. In December 2005, KFC celebrated the grand opening of His Image, the Boutique, Salon and Spa located at 1918 E. Front Street.
KFC also helped to meet the needs of those within this region. Along with a great foundation, excellent preaching and teaching, the ministry has many charitable ministries to assist single parents, those in need of food and a community service program to help troubled teens serve hours toward their probation. The Church also has in-house ministries which include a men's ministry (KMOVEN), a women's ministry (KWOVEN), a youth ministry (Kingdom X-Changed) and many more.
Through it all, Kingdom Family Church has triumphed through many tragic situations. Many times GOD spoke enlargement over this house. In 2007 the church flooded three times in thirty days. Prior to the floods, Pastor Reginald Shankle ministered "Where are the Water Walkers?"
The best came when God blessed the ministry with the new KFC campus, over 11 acres of land including a lake in September 2007. On Sunday, December 9, 2007, Dr. Zamekio Jackson of Saint Thomas Christian College bestowed upon Pastor Reginald and Stephanie Mauldin Shankle, Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degrees. The season of transition brought elevation for Pastor Reginald and Stephanie Mauldin Shankle. After a year, the bank approved renovations on the new facility located at 4218 Chandler Hwy., and in October 2008, the contractor began work.
On July 5, 2009, we finally moved into the New Kingdom Family Church. After much prayer and labor, another piece of the vision also unfolded with the opening of Kingdom Academy Daycare on December 14, 2009 at 1000 Augusta Avenue, Tyler, Texas.
With new innovation, Dr. Reginald and Stephanie Mauldin Shankle birthed forth a new anointing, new purpose and a new mission statement and expanded their vision and we began Kingdom Prophetic School of Ministry in March 2010, and we are now focusing on applying kingdom principles to our everyday life. We believe we can and will obtain kingdom wealth, kingdom health as we walk in kingdom authority living the kingdom life according to Matthew 6:10, "Thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven". We believe we made it through the process and now the worst is behind us. We have passed the test and come out of the grave. We have crossed over into our new fruitful season. We have stepped into greatness because GOD said it is our time.
